ANTIQUE, DIAMOND FLORAL BROOCH

Old mine, old European, and single cut diamonds weighing approximately 6.50 carats total, mounted en tremblant. Silver-topped yellow gold. 2 3/8 x 1 3/8 inches.
Gross weight: 12.35 dwt.

The French phrase en tremblant means to shake or tremble. The Victorians mounted flowers on spring wires to allow for natural movement of the flower, replicating a blossom in a light breeze.
